Hebden Medal

The Hebden medal is given for outstanding services by an individual in the field of gasification research, development and commercialisation. Dr Dennis Hebden was a leading figure in the development and commercial realisation of technologies for British Gas.

The Hebden Medal is awarded by the Energy Conversion Technology Special Interest Group and is normally presented at the European Gasification Conference.

Who is it awarded to?

The Hebden medal is awarded to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding services in the field of gasification research, development or commercialisation. This award is presented on an 18-month cycle to coincide with the Gasification conferences.

How is the winner decided?

The recipient is decided by the IChemE Medals & Prizes Committee on the recommendation of the IChemE Energy Conversion Technology Special Interest Group and normally presented at IChemE’s European Gasificiation conference.

How do I enter or nominate somebody?

If you are a member of the Energy Conversion Technology Special Interest Group you will be asked to submit nominations. Non Special Interest Group members should send nominations of no more than 600 words to medals@icheme.org

Deadline for nominations is 31 October 2016.
