Biocontainment, biosafety and
biosecurity 2009, London, UK
Biocontainment, biosafety and biosecurity 2009
is a two day technical meeting inspired by recent developments
and current issues in the field, including recent releases
of pathogenic material, the heightened prospect of bio terrorism
and the near certainty of the likelihood of an influenza type
pandemic in the near future.
The meeting will assess the current state of knowledge and
the lessons learned from episodes including the Pirbright
release in 2007. The challenges will be presented in the context
of the technological solutions that might be deployed, in
particular through effective chemical engineering. Appropriate
regulatory frameworks will be discussed alongside current
trends and technologies.
The event will appeal to designers, manufacturers and operators
of high risk biocontainment process facilities as well as
those concerned with emergency planning and public protection,
regulators, academics and all those with a technical interest
in the safe production, supply, use and disposal of biologically
active materials.
