Quantum Cascade Laser Spectroscopy

Date From: 23 May 2017
Location: Webinar
Description: The Process Management & Control Special Interest Group invite you to attend Quantum Cascade Laser Spectroscopy: powerful new options for process control and monitoring.
Event Type: Webinar
Venue: Online

Time: 09:00-10:00 BST
Organiser: Process Management & Control Special Interest Group

This presentation will discuss how Quantum Cascade Laser spectroscopy is displacing GCs to provide analytical data for process control and monitoring. The advantages are:

  • Multicomponent analysis
  • High speed
  • High sensitivity / low minimum detectable quantities
  • Real time validation / calibration using process fluids, not cal standards
  • Low cost of ownership

We will have some interesting science about QCLs and will also deal with deployment and the value proposition in real world operating plants.

This webinar will be of particular interest to process control specialists and engineers who use analytical data for process monitoring.

Speaker

Jeff Gunnell has a PhD in chemistry and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry. He spent 29 years with ExxonMobil Chemical and was Lead Specialist in Process Analytics with global responsibility for excellence in the installed base, new technology and major projects. Jeff retired expecting to spend time on normal things like rock climbing, skiing, running and growing potatoes but then joined Cascade Technologies to set up and chair an Advisory Board. He has been with Cascade for 4 years, giving guidance on various aspects of the business as well as participating in analyser designs and attending conferences. He assures us that the normal things are all going well too.
