Careers and education

Universities

The Energy Conversion Technology Special Interest Group arranges occasional meetings bringing together representatives from academia, industry, government and IChemE to review the provision of energy education to chemical engineers. Presentations given at the last meeting, held in London in January 2010, can be accessed via the events archive.

The group’s committee includes members from leading UK universities, who are engaged in teaching and research.

If you’re a student member of IChemE, you’re entitled to FREE membership of one subject group of your choice.

Student bursaries

A limited number of bursaries are available for chemical engineering students attending Energy Conversion Technology Special Interest  Group seminars and the European Gasification Conference.

Bursaries assist in the travel and subsistence costs associated with attendance. Students receiving a bursary are required to submit a short overview of the event they attended.

To apply, contact the treasurer, Steve Dawes.

Professional development

The Energy Conversion Technology Special Interest Group supports professional development through its seminars and conferences.

In addition to updating technical knowledge and sharing best practice, the events provide an excellent opportunity for networking.
