Oxyfuel technology is one of the three leading CO2 capture technologies. The other two technologies are post-combustion capture and pre-combustion capture. By carrying out fuel combustion with oxygen rather than air, the resulting flue gas contains a significantly larger concentration of CO2. This stream is then purified to obtain the desired, final CO2 concentration for transportation and storage. This technology requires the recycle of a CO2-rich flue-gas stream to the boiler to control flame temperatures.

Leading engineers from E.ON New Build Technology, who are currently working on a 1MW oxyfuel pilot plant and are extensively involved in a variety of cutting edge oxyfuel R&D projects, including ADECOS (Advanced Development of the Coal-fired Oxyfuel Process with CO2 Separation), will deliver a series of presentations on this emerging technology. The presentations will cover an introduction to an operating oxyfuel plant, with particular emphasis on the opportunities and challenges facing oxyfuel and the technical and commercial development of this technology.

This will be an ideal event for those with a limited level of understanding on oxyfuel and will also provide experienced practitioners with a platform to discuss future developments within the field.
