Keynote speakers

Invited speakers from industry will give keynote presentations on how process safety is being implemented in their organisations and their vision for the future. Confirmed so far:

Marke Neate

Mark Neate, Executive Director – Environment, Safety & Security, Sellafield Ltd, UK

Mark joined Sellafield Ltd in 2012 and his role includes all forms of safety (including health), quality, safeguards, resilience, emergency management and security. As such he is also the client for security, resilience and emergency management enhancement programmes. Mark's goal is to establish Sellafield Ltd so that it is recognised as a demonstrably safe and secure site providing the competence necessary to accelerate hazard reduction; promote environmental remediation; and prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies and threats to the business.

Prior to joining Sellafield Ltd, Mark enjoyed a diverse military career as an officer in the British Army where he earned a master's degree in military strategy. As a strategist he was involved in Iraqi operational planning and the deployment to Helmand Province. He was also the lead operational staff officer for the British Military’s contribution to 'Global Counter Terrorism'. He has additional responsibilities as a board member of the Civil Nuclear Police Authority and the International Nuclear Industry Steering Group for Security.
