This online training programme will introduce the importance of human factors for the chemical and process industries via a case-study incident, helping you to better understand the key human factors topic areas that are relevant to major accidents.

The training is delivered in partnership with the Keil Centre, a recognised centre of excellence in human factors.

The modules, each around 60 minutes in length, are effective as stand-alone training sessions or as part of a modular programme.

Special note: Recordings are available if you can't make or miss a module.

Presenter

Janette Edmonds

Janette has a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in ergonomics. She has 15 years' of practical ergonomics experience within various industries including the emergency services, defence, oil & gas, rail, telecoms and other applications.

Janette is a Fellow of the UK Ergonomics Society and is Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health. She was awarded the William F Floyd award in 1999 for her outstanding contribution to ergonomics.

Duration (for CPD recording purposes): 1 hour per module

If you are recording mandatory CPD you should refer to your own regulator’s requirements as recognition of CPD hours may vary.

New CPD verification process from 2017. IChemE (in line with Engineering Council requirements) will be checking a random sample of Chartered Members’ and Fellows’ CPD records. More details online.
