Yes, the time has come that I have only a single paper left to sit. After a whopping 20 years in education this is potential the last exam I will have have to snow myself under revision with for....ever!
So, this past week I sat 3 fundamental chemical engineering exams. These involved chemical and biochemical separation processes, reaction engineering, catalysis, porous materials, adsorption, membranes, heuristics, thermodynamics, transport phenomena, the lot! Luckily the one that I have left is a peripheral chem eng subject to do with green technology, pollution control, legislation et cetera.
As I mentioned in a previous post, the reason that these are my finals (even though I have another semester to complete) is that the second half of my final year consists of project work; something that I am eager to begin. I haven't discovered yet the groups I am in, or for a matter of fact, the subject on which it will be based. When I find out though I will inform all!
That leaves me then with one final week of revision culminating in my final FINALS! I hope for those of you out there sitting exams that they are going well, and hopefully when the next post is published we shall all be slightly calmer! I think several beers are in order!
The time for scoffing mince pies and turkey has finally come to an end.... at least for the next 350, or so, days! I must, therefore, have other things to consume my final 5 months or being a student and remainder of the year.
Two weeks from now I sit my final ever exams for university - bring it on!!! The next month will mean that my hair will alter a shade closer to grey with others strands probably falling out! In the second semester I will complete a Product Design assignment (5 weeks) along with a Design Project (7 weeks). I can give you an insight to the specifics of both of these when I start them.
That takes me up to mid-May when we finish a few days short of my birthday (excellent timing). This year's will be a mega-celebration! The official graduation ceremony won't happen until mid-July, but in theory I will be free from mid-May to the beginning of September. In September I will begin my graduate job with the company I worked for during my placement year. I won't find out where I am going to be based until May but, according to rumour, I may find myself in Africa or Asia next year. To be honest though, I will be happy wherever the stick me! As long as there's someone to help me with teething problems.
For the three month summer break I plan to go on holiday for a few weeks and learn to drive (something which has been put off for years!) So I hope that you have found my antics in 2006 a fun yet informative read and, fingers crossed, 2007 will be just as interesting.
