Description

Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) are one type of protection layers as identified by a risk analysis (eg: LOPA). For the process industry sector IEC61511/ISA 84 has been developed and provides the necessary rules and recommendations to be followed. This standard is a ‘performance’ type standard and allows many different solutions of instrumented systems for risk protection.
