IChemE annual review available for download
The 2010 IChemE annual review is now available for free download. The review highlights many of IChemE’s key developments throughout last year.
The review includes: the opening of new IChemE offices in China and New Zealand; Malaysia becoming home to the second largest concentration of IChemE members; an extended programme of political engagement activities in the UK; and headline results from the UK and Australia salary survey.
It also includes a complete listing of major IChemE 2010 medal and award winners as well as the Institution's financial results.
IChemE president Desmond King has also contributed to the review. King cited the introduction of two new membership grades in 2010 as a major step forward for the Institution: “We now have two new membership grades to recognise important sections of the process industries, Technician members and Associate Fellows.
“Technician members are technicians and operators working in chemical and process engineering. Associate Fellows are those individuals without a traditional chemical engineering background who hold influential positions within out community.
“Both groups make a vital contribution to the profession and it’s entirely right that IChemE recognises their input,” says King.

About chemical engineers
Chemical, biochemical and process engineering is the application of science, maths and economics to the process of turning raw materials into everyday products. Professional chemical engineers design, construct and manage process operations all over the world. Pharmaceuticals, food and drink, synthetic fibres and clean drinking water are just some of the products where chemical engineering plays a central role.
About IChemE

With a growing global membership of over 32,000, the Institution is at the heart of the process community, promoting competence and a commitment to best practice, advancing the discipline for the benefit of society, encouraging young people in science and engineering and supporting the professional development of its members.
