Process control experts head to APC 9

APC

An international audience of process control and automation experts will head to York, UK next month for the 9th Advances in Process Control conference (APC 9).

APC 9 is the latest in a series of triennial conferences on process control and takes place on 19-20 September at the Royal York Hotel. It will focus on the current challenges and latest developments within the fields of automation, monitoring and control.

Keynote speakers include Charlie Cutler, the founding father of dynamic matrix control (DMC); Walter Boyes, editor in chief of controlglobal.com and an automation expert; and Chris Hamlin, a specialist on integration, manufacturing execution and enterprise management platforms.

APC 9 will feature 25 presentations including contributions both from major end users and mainstream suppliers. Conference topics include model predictive control (MPC) wireless monitoring and abnormal situation management.

Jon Love, chair of the APC 9 organising committee, anticipates the strongest APC conference on record: “The series has evolved from its origins in 1985 to its present status as IChemE’s flagship event in the discipline.  This reflects the simple reality that control and automation has become the lead discipline throughout the chemical and process industries.  Aimed at industrialists, with strong applications, technology and practice focus, the underlying ethos of the conference is that an ‘advance’ is not truly an advance until it has been demonstrated in, and indeed taken up by the industry.”

Members of co sponsoring organisations will benefit from the same rate as IChemE members. For full programme details and to register your attendance, visit http://www.icheme.org/apc9
