Technical strategy review open to members
IChemE members are being asked to have their say on the future direction of the Institution’s technical strategy.
Four challenge papers have been published covering energy, food & nutrition, water and health & wellbeing and IChemE members have been asked to review the papers and share their thoughts via an online member survey.
IChemE technical vice president Ed Daniels (pictured) says: “Given the significant global challenges that depend upon chemical engineering input, it is critical that IChemE has a clear articulation of these challenges.
“We aim for the revised strategy to be representative of the majority view amongst the membership. Only by taking part now will you have the chance to shape IChemE’s technical strategy for the next 3-5 years,” adds Daniels.
The revised technical strategy is set to be unveiled at IChemE’s 2012 Annual General Meeting in London, UK on 22 May.

About chemical engineers
Chemical, biochemical and process engineering is the application of science, maths and economics to the process of turning raw materials into everyday products. Professional chemical engineers design, construct and manage process operations all over the world. Pharmaceuticals, food and drink, synthetic fibres and clean drinking water are just some of the products where chemical engineering plays a central role.
