Over 30 IChemE journal reviewers were honoured in The Hague, Netherlands last week at the Annual IChemE Journals Best Reviewers Award, hosted by Elsevier and the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE).

IChemE publishes four highly respected journals, in partnership with Elsevier, which are responsible for keeping thousands of students and chemical engineers up-to-date with the latest research and developments each year.

In 2012, IChemE journals received over 1,700 manuscripts involving over 1,500 reviews. The Awards recognise the outstanding expertise and professional services provided by the authors to maintain the high quality of papers published in IChemE Journals.

Over 30 authors were honoured at the awards, which were held in the De Mesdag art museum on 23 April 2013. Dr Eva Sorensen, Editor-in-Chief of IChemE’s Chemical Engineering Research and Design (ChERD) journal said: "The reviewers are the backbone of every journal. Only with their dedication and hard work is it possible to maintain the continuing high quality of interesting and relevant papers.

"ChERD is very fortunate to have such a tremendous team of reviewers to rely on and we are very grateful for the time and effort they put in."

The four journals published by IChemE include: Chemical Engineering Research and Design; Process Safety and Environmental Protection; Food and Bioproducts Processing; and Education for Chemical Engineers. Further information is available on IChemE's website.
