Liveris to give Davis Lecture
Andrew Liveris, president, chairman and chief executive officer of The Dow Chemical Company will deliver the IChemE Davis Lecture on Tuesday 2 April in London, UK.
Liveris, who was awarded the Davis Medal in 2011 in recognition of his contribution to chemical engineering, will be discussing The Industrial Evolution: Advanced Manufacturing in – and for the Global Economy.
Liveris will address the changing nature of manufacturing in the 21st century, with particular emphasis on the United Kingdom and the European Union. He will explain why a global manufacturing resurgence is happening, transforming sectors from pharmaceuticals to infrastructure, energy, and technology, before sharing his vision for how governments, businesses, and civil society—working together—can drive innovation and transform that manufacturing renaissance into a manufacturing revolution.
The Davis Medal is awarded in memory of George E. Davis, widely regarded as the founding father of the chemical engineering discipline.
The lecture takes place at 7pm at 1 Portland Place, London with a drinks reception from 6pm. The event is free to attend but prior registration is essential. Remaining places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis with priority given to IChemE members. Register your interest by emailing Gemma Jones.
