COP22 official side event - Investing in the planet: Green banks and other financial tools to scale up mitigation technologies - December 2016

The IChemE Energy Centre along with the Grantham Institute and the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) held an official side event at COP22, Marrakech, Morocco, on 14 December 2016. The event examined practical solutions to implement the Paris Agreement, with the help of chemical engineers and financial institutions.

Low Carbon Summit - September 2016

The IChemE Energy Centre and Knowledge Transfer Network hosted a one-day Low Carbon Summit, with the Summit venue provided by the UK Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).

CCS Forum Report - July 2016

This report was written by the CCS Forum, a group of experts from academia, industry and government (supported by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Royal Society of Chemistry, Imperial College London and the IChemE Energy Centre) and examines the future of CCS, in particular, to identify challenges to be met. It was developed from discussions held over the three-day CCS Forum held in February 2016.

IChemE Energy Centre report - Transitions in electricity systems towards 2030 - June 2016

This report was commissioned by the Energy Centre as a review of the installed electricity generation capacity in Australia, China, India, Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa and the UK. These countries were chosen owing to international significance and large IChemE membership.

COP21 official side event - Technology solutions for a 2°C world - December 2015

The IChemE Energy Centre along with the Grantham Institute, Danish Engineering Society, Future Climate Engineering Solutions, Carbon Trust and Global CCS Institute held an official side event at COP21, Paris, on 10 December 2015. The event looked at investing in renewables, storage, energy efficiency and CCS.

IChemE Energy Centre Climate Communiqué – October 2015

Ahead of the COP21 climate talks in Paris in December, the IChemE Energy Centre has issued a Climate Communiqué. The communiqué calls upon governments to deliver an effective global agreement that provides clarity, certainty and incentives to allow business, communities and individuals to act.
