Overview

Whether you are new to project and construction management, or have previous experience, this is an opportunity to review best practice when managing engineering projects.

This course will help you to understand the range of project management systems, tools and techniques that are available when managing engineering projects.

You'll discover how to apply a structured approach to project delivery and how to manage the issues that will inevitably crop up during a project life-cycle.

Delegates will receive a copy of the Project Management Toolkit handbook as part of the course materials.

Day 1

Day 2

  • governance: opportunities, benefits management, assurance, stakeholder engagement

Day 3
  • people: teams, individuals, leadership

Course presenter

Charles Cowley CEng MIMechE, MAPM, FinstLM, FRSA

Charles is an independent consultant with over 30 years' experience of managing engineering projects in the oil & gas and chemicals industries. He worked as an engineer and project manager for Shell for 27 years where his responsibilities included project leading their HSSE control Framework, and managing global HSE culture and competence for their downstream operations. Charles has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nottingham, and an MBA in Project Management from Henley Business School.
