Alexandra is a senior executive with twenty years’ experience in industry, universities, associations and government. She previously worked in corporate roles in international food and energy industries. She taught university programs in strategy, change management, project management, sustainability and data analysis. She leads the coordination of advice, strategy, stakeholder consultations and project implementation to improve productivity and drive regulatory reform. She has established programs, and led projects for business improvement, systems implementation, circular economy, hydrogen economy and industry development advanced manufacturing.
She holds Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Engineering (First Class Honours and University Medal), MBA (Executive) and Masters of Economics degrees, and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (FAICD).
I’m excited that chemical engineers take a central role in tackling the global grand challenges for our society - including food, water, energy and health.
I have process skills in developing policy/strategy, engaging with stakeholders, and leading change. Solutions often require work across government, industry, not-for-profits and academia and I have worked in all these areas. I bring an Australian and international perspective. I have experience as a manager and director, and bring skills in governance, strategy and project delivery.
I contribute actively to the engineering profession and development of the future engineering workforce. I was a National Board Member and Division President at Engineers Australia, and I have been an office bearer at Engineers Australia for twenty years. I have been an IChemE university accreditation assessor for ten years and I am a member of the IChemE Education and Assessment Forum.
