2012 Award shortlists announced

The shortlists for this year's IChemE Innovation and Excellence Awards have been announced today. The awards will be presented at the Institution's Awards Dinner in Manchester, UK on 1 November.

A record number of entries were submitted this year and the international shortlists feature entries from all over the world, representing both industry and academia.

IChemE ceo David Brown says: 'Our Awards programme gets bigger and bigger every year. These awards are recognised all over the world and throughout the chemical and process engineering industries. Anyone who has been in the room when the winners are announced will know just how sought after and highly regarded the IChemE awards are.'

Some familiar names, including 2011 award winners Huntsman Pigments, Sellafield Ltd, Costain, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), Australia and the University of Surrey, UK are joined by industry giants such as GSK, BP and Shell and IChemE Award newcomers Aurecon, New Zealand, Advanced Power Storage and the University of Illinois, US.

The best overall entry will receive the Outstanding Achievement in Chemical and Process Engineering Award (sponsored by BP).
