IChemE Council visit an Australian first

26th August 2011

IChemE Council members will join president Sir William Wakeham to convene a Council meeting in Australia for the first time during the Chemeca 2011 conference in September.

Sir William and fellow Council members will also use the opportunity to conduct seminars and meetings in Australian capital cities, including Hobart and Canberra alongside similar sessions in Gladstone and Newcastle.  Other events are also set for Singapore and New Zealand.

IChemE chief executive David Brown says: 'We're want to take our Council members and meetings closer to where our members are based and this is a great opportunity to meet with lots of IChemE members over a relatively short period of time.'

Other recent Council meetings have taken place at the offices of the UK Health and Safety Executive and AstraZeneca's site in Macclesfield, UK.

The September visit will also provide an opportunity for Council members to meet IChemE Australian and New Zealand board members.
