IChemE president makes Australia’s Top 100 engineers list

3rd July 2012

IChemE president Russell Scott has been named in Engineers Australia (EA) annual list of the country's 100 most influential engineers.

Joining Scott on the list are past president Robin Batterham, former Australia chair, Max Lu (University of Queensland) and the only female chemical engineer listed, IChemE Fellow, Rose Amal (University of New South Wales).

Now in its ninth year, Engineers Australia’s Top 100 list is not ranked in order, but is grouped in seven broad categories: industry, academia/research, innovation, association, consulting, politics and public service.

Only current positions are considered to help keep the list ‘dynamic’ from year to year, though candidates do not have to be in an engineering role to be selected.  They do however need to be based in Australia and have an engineering degree with the major criterion being that they are in a position of influence.
