South African chemical engineers train with IChemE

IChemE has added another Fundamentals of process safety (FOPS) training course to its 2012 South Africa training calendar to keep up with demand and to meet the process safety training needs of local chemical engineers.
Previous courses have been oversubscribed and registrations are now being accepted for the next course scheduled for 30 July - 3 August in Boksburg, South Africa.
“Apart from a few major companies, process safety management (PSM) is in its infancy in South Africa, but a huge amount of interest has been generated, mainly by the IChemE course and follow-up” says course presenter Rod Prior.
“The course has received excellent delegate feedback and pulls together all aspects of process safety management with real life case studies. It will benefit staff at all levels in an organisation and has attracted delegates from a wide range of industry sectors including oil and gas, petrochemicals, chemicals, explosives, nuclear and mineral processing,' adds Prior.
