Young engineer and Innovator shortlists announced

IChemE has published shortlists for its 2011 Young Chemical Engineer and Innovator of the Year Awards.

 

 

The Innovator of the Year Award sponsored by NES

  • Jiaping Paul Chen, associate professor, National University of Singapore;
  • John Zhu, professor, University of Queensland, Australia;
  • Tadafumi Adschiri, professor, University of Tokyo, Japan;
  • Zoltan Nagy, professor, Loughborough University, UK;
  • Richard Noble, professor, University of Colorado, US;
  • Steve Jackson, principal process engineer, Costain Energy and Process, UK;
  • Liu Mingyan, professor, Tianjin University, China.

The Young Chemical Engineer of the year Award sponsored by GSK

  • Matthew Gregora, Hydrocracking Complex Operations Superintendent, BP, Australia;
  • Andrea Seedhouse, North Tees logistics development manager, Sabic, UK;
  • Nathan Moloney, senior process development engineer, BP, Australia;
  • Tom James, director, Organic Drive, UK; 
  • Paul Nagle, process and flow assurance engineer, Shell, Ireland;
  • Amandeep Othi, process engineer and project manager at Grimley Smith Associates, UK.

Both awards will be presented in Birmingham, UK on 3 November at the 2011 IChemE annual dinner, with the winners determined by an IChemE member vote next month.

The dinner is expected to attract around 450 chemical engineers and invited guests. BBC TV personality Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered, Mock the Week) will be Master of Ceremonies at the event.
