When can I register for Hazards 34?

We are going to open for registrations soon. You can register your interest and we'll let you know when you can book your place at the conference. 

Will I receive copies of the slides/papers presented at Hazards 34?

Yes, you will be able to download copies of the presentation slides and the full papers (if available) as valuable reference points after the event. Please note that this is subject to authors providing the relevant permissions.

We will also be making videos of the presentations available after the event, allowing you to catch up on anything you missed or revisit content you found interesting.

Can you help with booking accommodation in Manchester?

You are responsible for booking your own accommodation in Manchester. But we have provided a booking tool to help you check availability and make a reservation.

Presenting

Are there opportunities to present at Hazards 34?

Yes, we recently launched our call for content and are asking anyone interested to consider submitting an abstract. You can find more information on the Call for content page.

Do I need to be an IChemE member to present?

Absolutely not. We encourage members and non-members alike to get involved.

What is expected of a presenter before and during the conference?

Presenters will be given a 25-minute presentation slot in the programme which includes at least five minutes for questions. They are also expected to join the facilitated discussion time relevant to their presentation.

Presenters will be asked to submit a video recording of their presentation along with their PowerPoint slides before the conference. They are also strongly encouraged to submit a detailed paper for the conference proceedings, although this is not an essential requirement.

  • Deadline for abstract submissions: 24 May 2024
  • Abstract review completed, presentation slots offered, programme published: early July 2024
  • Deadline for submitting draft papers: 6 September 2024
  • Feedback provided from technical committee's peer review of paper: w/c 22 September 2024
  • Deadline for submitting final paper version of paper for conference proceedings: 11 October 2024
  • Deadline for submitting MP4 recording of presentation and presenter photo (jpeg): 11 October 2024
  • Deadline for submitting PowerPoint slides: 25 October 2024
Do presenters have to pay to attend Hazards 34?

Presenters will have full access to the conference so are expected to pay to attend. They will however benefit from a significantly discounted author rate.​ Visit the fees and registration page to find out more.
