Join our webinar to hear from IChemE members on why they chose to register as a CEnv, how the registration has helped them in their career, and why they would encourage others to to register.

Across the world, CEnv registrants utilise their environmental expertise to instil client trust, transition to sustainable practices, lead departments, make strategic decisions, advise governments and work as highly skilled practitioners. 

Over 7,500 professionals from a spectrum of fields including – but not limited to – engineering, forestry, ecology, resource management, agriculture, consulting, planning, environmental assessment, and air quality have achieved CEnv registration so far; a globally recognised mark of achievement that enhances career prospects through establishing proven expertise and experience.

This webinar is free to attend and best suited to those who are already Chartered Chemical Engineers, or working towards Chartered status.


Sejal Dixon, Director of Sustainability and Climate Change Service Line, WSP

Sejal manages a national team of over 120 consultants supporting clients with sustainable finance; energy and carbon strategy and reporting; climate resilience; and compliance. As well as providing overall leadership, Sejal remains heavily involved in projects and key client management and lead the growth and development of their work in the industrial sector. Mainly working on decarbonisation and ESG strategies and International ESG assessments against standards such as the IFC or the 'Equator Principles' as well as the more established EPR and consenting strategies for nationally significant projects in Hydrogen, CCS, energy and wider.

Caireen Hargreaves, Product Environmental Sustainability Lead, AstraZeneca

Caireen has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for more than 20 years. A chemical engineer by background she has held roles in Operations, R&D and Global SHE across the UK and in Sweden. She currently leads AstraZeneca’s Product Environmental Sustainability team in Global SHE driving strategic efforts to ensure the environmental safety of AZ products. By working with key business functions, the team apply lifecycle thinking across AZ product value chains to identify and address significant environmental impacts.

Alan Harper, Principal Consultant, StratoCirrus Technologies

Alan started his career at ICI where he challenged outdated practices and introduced new technological fixes for long standing problems. Since then, Alan has worked in several roles within industry and academia, but always with environmental, energy conservation, and sustainability themes such as Technology Manager at the Environmental Sustainability Knowledge Transfer Network, and Programme Director of Sustainability Engineering at Heriot-Watt University. Alan wants to see “well researched scientific knowledge and competent engineering combined through objective management and assessment systems into real beneficial outcomes”.

Derek McNab, Managing Director, Mabbett

Derek is a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers, a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Environmentalist. As Managing Director of Mabbett, he leads over 100 staff delivering a wide range of planning, design, environment, engineering and safety services to protect people and the planet. Derek is also a Visiting Professor at the University of Strathclyde where he has developed a range of environmental related courses for both undergraduate and postgraduate chemical engineering degrees. As a Volunteer, Derek is a Board Director and Vice-President of Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce where he encourages member businesses to embrace environmentally responsible practices and to set their net zero goals.
