Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme

ESOS Lead Energy Assessor (LEA) training

Course title: Leading an Energy Assessment
Course level: EQF 7

In June 2014, the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) introduced a new regulation, Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS). This regulation requires all large enterprises to carry out an ESOS compliant energy assessment by 5 December 2015 and then every four years thereafter.

Phase 2 of the ESOS regulation is now underway and all qualifying organisations are able to begin the compliance process again, with assessments needed to be completed by 5 December 2019.

Theses audits can only be conducted by an approved ESOS Lead Energy Assessor and IChemE has been named as an approved competent authority to award this status.

This course provides participants experienced in energy assessment with knowledge to lead, review and approve an ESOS energy assessment. It uses the fundamentals of ISO 50002 and PAS 51215 as a basis.

This course is a prerequisite to registration as an ESOS Lead Energy Assessor with IChemE

Please view other benefits of becoming a qualified ESOS Lead Energy Assessor.
