IChemE in the Middle East

About us

IChemE is committed to supporting our members around the world. We have a UAE Member Group and a Senior Ambassador in Qatar who serve as the main point of contact should you wish to get involved in activities in these regions. Alternatively you can contact our International Development Manager Lisa McDonald lmcdonald@icheme.org for further information and enquiries.

The opportunities for involvement are varied and include:

  • becoming a committee member
  • joining task groups looking at strategic issues
  • be part of an established committee – including membership and accreditation committees which apply and maintain professional and educational standards
  • attend conferences or, indeed, present a paper
  • become a mentor to those wishing to apply for our professional qualifications such as Chartered status
  • volunteer to work with schools through our whynotchemeng campaign
  • become a case study and feature on our web pages to inspire others

All these activities offer you the chance to develop your personal skills, exposure to and communication with fellow professionals within industry and academia, many of whom are in senior positions. Please take a look at our information on volunteering.

Find out more about Shane Watson on our Senior Ambassadors page and our UAE Member Group committee biographies are available on their member group webpages. You can contact them through our contact us page.
