UK report says use waste not crops for biofuel

In the UK, a new report from the UK government encourages biofuel production from waste and not crops or plants in order to reduce carbon emissions. The report brings up the age old question of which biofuels produce lower emissions than fossil fuels and which ones are actually worse. The report recommends limits on using biofuels from food crops like wheat or corn but recommends using non-food crops like willow and Miscanthus grasses that can be grown on land that otherwise could not be used for food production, used cooking oil, and forest and sawmill residues.
