Undergraduate project prize - Sponsored by PM Group

What is the aim of the prize?

The aim of this prize is to promote and recognise interest in food and drink processing amongst students taking undergraduate courses in chemical engineering.

It is intended that this is a world-wide competition.

Who is it awarded to?

The prize is awarded to student(s) who have performed a research project on a topic related to food and drink processing as part of their undergraduate course at an IChemE-accredited institution.

Students taking a four-year undergraduate master’s are eligible to apply. Students taking a post-graduate master’s qualification are ineligible.

How is the winner decided?

The assessors will consider the novelty of the project, the relevance to food and drink processing, the quality of the work reported and the standard of reporting.

In considering the quality of the work the assessors will consider the nature of the project, such as bachelor / master’s level, the number of students working together, the number of terms / semesters and the fraction of the year’s credits associated with project.

What is the value and how many prizes are awarded each year?

The number of prizes awarded each year will be determined by the funds available. A prize may be split if the assessors consider two applications to have equal merit. The total annual prize money is £200.

The prize is sponsored by PM Group.

How do I enter or nominate somebody?
