Pharma Special Interest Group
A community for process professionals

Member benefits

As a member of the Pharma Special Interest Group you’ll be part of a community that serves your particular area of interest or expertise, and meet like-minded people through professional and social networking. Areas of the industry in which the chemical engineer is involved cross the entire drug development lifecycle from R&D and introduction of new technologies through to the manufacture and packaging of medicinal products including novel, off-patent and generic products. The scope of working may cover any product encompassed by small-molecule, biopharmaceutical or genetic origins.

Representation within the Pharma Special Interest Group includes professionals from manufacturers, service providers, and academic organisations. This range of involvements helps to promote a broad understanding of the issues that can apply to specific areas of current interest, and ensure a well-informed focus on the application of those areas.

Communication of what is topical within the various areas of involvement helps to promote and identify areas of shared interest.

The selection and promotion of professional networking events and seminars encourages knowledge sharing and learning.

The Pharma Special Interest Group encourages members to become actively involved with the organisation and delivery of events, with the support and backing of the committee and IChemE staff team.
