Topic

The use of wireless instrumentation is a growing trend in many industries. The basic premise behind the use of wireless instrumentation is to provide additional measurement points for minimal capital expenditure. Additional measurement points assist people to meet business KPI's by improving the quantity and quality of measured data. These KPI's could include optimising process control systems, reducing unforseen shutdowns, improving energy efficiency or simply including additional monitoring points to an existing system.

Case studies will be presented that cover testing of essential systems, improving plant safety, reducing energy waste and optimizing process control systems. Overcoming hurdles to implementation, thoughts on usage guidelines and cost benefits for projects will be discussed.

Presenter

David Kelly is an end user of wireless instrumentation and is an Electrical / Instrumentation Engineer currently working with Qenos in Melbourne in both a project implementation and maintenance support role.

Craig Abbott is a Wireless Specialist for Emerson with many years experience in Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) and remote telemetary.

Format

A one-hour online session, with opportunity for Q&A.
