With the world energy demand increasing sharply, the development of more challenging oil and gas fields with high acid gas content is no longer avoidable.

The presentation will highlight the current options for the removal of the acid gas as well as its disposal. Opportunities and challenges will be identified.


Dr. Myrian Schenk holds a Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad Nacional del Sur, Argentina and a PhD. in Chemical Engineering from the University of London. Myrian has over 15 years of project and process engineering experience in the oil and gas industry in operator, contractor and consulting environments. She has carried out conceptual design and FEED work of several major onshore gas production, processing and compression plants, specialising in refrigeration / liquefaction systems, LNG, NGL extraction, dew-pointing, gas processing and propane refrigeration, and both steady-state and dynamic process simulation. Dr Schenk is currently a Study Manager with Xodus Group in London.
