Technical programme is available here >>>

This event will provide delegates with an insight on the sources of shale gas and coal bed methane. The informal seminar style will offer a dialogue based learning approach, utilising prompting slides to steer discussion.

The programme will be split into four chronological sessions covering the following topics:

• Geology and Reservoir Development
This session will cover an overview on the formation of both shale gas and coal bed methane and will include exploration and appraisal, drilling and development, reservoir management, water handling and the associated environmental issues.

• Gas Gathering
The second session will address systems for gas gathering and pretreatment. Key focus will be on economic collection of coal bed methane produced at 1 kPA over vast areas with numerous wells.

• Monetisation
The penultimate session will review the associated processes for monetising unconventional gas with particular emphasis on gas specification and the potential impact on plant design.

• Gas Market Impact
The final part of the seminar will review the effect of unconventional gas on the existing gas market, including price and market opportunities.
