Topic

This presentation will address the use, and reuse of simulation models throughout the lifecycle of a project. This includes the use software tools (in house macros and Visual Basic Programs) and commercial applications that allow common simulation files (e.g., HYSYS, Unisim, or PROII) to be used for heat and material balances, equipment sizing and data sheet creation, PFD and P&ID generation. FEED or detail design dynamic simulation models may be used for operational troubleshooting, and also modified and reused as engines for Operator Training Simulators will also be addressed. In this presentation, we’ll demonstrate the following: Visual Basic Macros to for Heat and Material Balance Generation, Automatic conversion of a HYSYS model to PFD, P&ID and 3-D layouts and a proof of concept Operator Training Simulator using HYSYS and an emulated Human Machine Interface.
