This presentation will particularly highlight the experiences of thermal spray application at site as a solution to corrosion under insulation.

Thermal Spray Coatings have been gaining acceptance as high quality performance coatings for facilities, in the Oil & Gas industry, in Malaysia over the past 10 years. Two most common techniques of Thermal Spray Coatings are Arc Spray and Flame Spray. Arc Spray has been used in fabrication sites for new construction of facilities. Meanwhile, Flame Spray has been used for maintenance of facilities inside live operating plants. Among the purpose of thermal spray coatings is to protect steel structure under insulation from corrosion.

Junaidy Abdullah obtained his Bachelor of Engineering (Petroleum) from University of Missouri, Rolla, USA. Commencing his career with Cathodic Protection since 1995, he also extended his activities in thermal spray coatings since 2000.

Currently the Director of Norimax Sdn Bhd, he has over 10 years experience in the thermal spray coatings servicing the oil and gas industry. He is also the secretary of Institute of Materials Malaysia (IMM) Coatings committee and has been actively involved in the IMM coatings and corrosion committee activities since 1997.

The event will take place at the University of Nottingham Teaching Centre, Level 2, Chulan Tower, No 3 Jalan Conlay, 50450 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Map and directions >>
