Please note this is a change from our original programme.

The dramatic fall in the oil price over the past six months has taken the industry by surprise and is certainly a topic of major discussion in our industry. Hence we felt our January meeting would be an excellent opportunity to hold a panel session to discuss: why it is happening, who is driving it, what are the likely consequences in terms of the economics of the exporting countries, project developments, the drilling and exploration programme and jobs and when might it end.

This panel meeting will be held under strict Chatham House Rules; this is to enable a free and frank exchange of views and perspectives. This presentation will not be recorded and will not be available via webcast.

The panel will be chaired by Howard Rogers of the Oxford Institute of Energy Studies and will include other panellists who will share their personal views to set a platform for an open and lively debate between attendees.

SONG members do not have to register for this event. Non-SONG members must register their attendance in advance by email to song@ichememember.org.
