An evening event with technical presentation by Puvan Balasubramaniam (SynergenOG), and time for networking over refreshments. Registration from 18:00; the event will commence at 18:30 and close at 20:30.

Topic

The presentation will briefly introduce the concept of Process Safety/Technical Safety and highlight the current gaps between Design and Operations in implementing Process Safety/Technical Safety in the offshore Oil & Gas industry.

Speaker

Puvan Balasubramaniam, currently a co-founded SynergenOG. He has been working in the area of Health, Safety and Environmental Management for more than 15 years, having rich experience from the very trying operating conditions of the North Sea and vastly spread Asian fields to the sector.

Prior to founding SynergenOG, Puvan worked in the UK for more than 11 years with Premier Oil UK Limited, Marathon Oil International Production Operations, Talisman Energy and Det Norske Veritas where he held multiple roles and responsibilities from developing Technical Safety studies for new and existing facilities to coordinating ongoing operations and new developments.

Puvan is an alumnus of University of Malaya (Malaysia) where he received his BEng in Chemical Engineering and MSc in Engineering Science. He is also affiliated with the Institute of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), UK Safety and Reliability Society (SaRS) and is a Chartered Engineer with the UK Engineering Council.
