The concept of floating liquefaction plants has been studied for past 40 years and has now come of age. One facility has been completed and is awaiting a new location and 3 more are in construction – one for Shell (Prelude) and two for Petronas (Satu & PFLNG2). Satu is already at the Kanowit gas field location and start up is scheduled for later this year.
