Intellectual property (IP) takes many shapes and forms, and is central to the operations and success of most companies. Over 70% of enterprise value is associated with IP and IP is very often the deal driver, whether the deal is R&D collaboration, technology licensing or innovation financing, or the merger, acquisition or divestment of all or part of a business.

This presentation provides an overview of the different types of intellectual property and the patenting process in particular. We will explore the use of patents as a valuable source of business information and how that information can be used to develop, maintain and review a company’s IP strategy. We will also discuss the role and importance of intellectual property in collaboration agreements.

Rob now provides his expertise to clients from all sectors looking to grow their business by maximising the value of their IP and identifying and managing the associated risks. He is a chemistry graduate from the University of Leeds who later qualified as a lawyer.
