Description: Presented by Scott Wilson this presentation will look at the development of offshore structures primarily from the viewpoint of structural engineers over the course of the last 30 years. It will describe how changes in materials, fabrication locations, installation vessels and water depths have influenced the configurations of fixed and floating offshore structures with particular reference to the North Sea.

This presentation will discuss subsea field development and specifically the subsea production system design and operation.

The recent advances in subsea equipment design including trees, flowlines and risers will be considered and also the production enhancement provided by subsea processing technology. Current industry themes such as long distance tie-backs and stranded reserves shall be discussed and how technology development has become an enabler.

The presentation will demonstrate the value of a fully integrated field development process and discuss the impact of reservoir performance on both subsea and facilities design. 

Scott Wilson has 20 years of experience in the upstream Oil & Gas Industry, specialising in asset production management and operability. Over this period, he has worked on a variety of international projects, covering all aspects of development from concept evaluation through FEED and Detailed Design to final commissioning. A Chemical Engineer by background, he has worked with both Operating and Service companies.  He is currently Production & Operability Advisor with OneSubsea, a Schlumberger company - based in London.

Refreshments and networking from 17.30, the presentation will start at 18.00. There will be an opportunity for more networking after the presentation.
