International Sustainable Production and Consumption

Call for papers

 The call for papers is now closed


Papers are invited from engineers, natural and social scientists and those at the interface between these disciplines.

Papers should include some elements of life cycle thinking and should clearly demonstrate that they are addressing topics related to sustainable production and consumption.

The topics covered by the conference will include:

  • circular economy
  • sustainable technologies, products and services
  • energy, food, water and waste nexus
  • life cycle sustainability assessment and management
  • consumer engagement and communication
  • sustainable lifestyles
  • sustainable policy development

Abstract submission guidelines

Presentations will be available in both oral and poster form and authors are requested to nominate their preference during the submission process. Please ensure that your abstract is submitted online through the submission portal no later than Friday 1 June 2018 and complies with the following criteria:

  • Word count - overall word count, excluding the scientific title, authors and affiliations must not exceed 250 words
  • Abstract title - title case, Arial, font size 12
  • Author information - authors and affiliations are included
  • Abstract - sentence case, Arial font size 10. Note that characters and symbols must be inserted into the document using the INSERT SYMBOL function, not by changing the font, and please do not use document styles
  • Abbreviations - full text on first mention followed by abbreviation of first parenthesis
  • Author profile - Please include your professional biography of no more than 100 words that will be used during introductions at the conference  


IMPORTANT: Please ensure your abstract text is how you would want it to be published via the live system.

Abstract timeline

  • Call for papers open – 18 January
  • Deadline for abstract submissions – 1 June
  • Authors notified  - 11 June
  • Programme published – 29 June


Abstracts should be submitted no later than Friday 1 June 2018.
