Changing lives and saving lives

Judith Hackitt

The Institution of Chemical Engineers’ (IChemE) incoming president, Judith Hackitt CBE, will outline her hopes and ambitions for chemical engineering in a live webinar of her Presidential Address.

Judith will chart her journey over 40 years to reach the top of her profession and also outline some of the priorities for her presidential year.

Major themes in her speech will include changing lives and saving lives. She will explore the crucial role of chemical engineers to a sustainable world, and why retention and transfer of learning is so important to preventing the catastrophic losses in the process industries.

IChemE’s 73rd President will also illustrate why the Institution’s new technical strategy, Chemical Engineering Matters, should be the driver for engaging the whole community of members in creating, maintaining and improving the quality of life.

Judith’s speech will be broadcast live and free by IChemE on 18:30 – 19.15 BST on 20 May 2013.
