OSL's 'clever thinking' results in engineering skills accolade

OSL Consulting

Leading professional body, the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), has awarded UK-based OSL Consulting Engineers Corporate Partnership status in recognition of its outstanding commitment to skills and professional development.

IChemE, which represents nearly 40,000 members worldwide, awards Corporate Partner status to organisations committed to training, skills and development of their chemical and process engineering talent.

OSL Consulting joins a select group of organisations to receive the award including BP, Bechtel and AstraZeneca.

The consultancy was presented with its bronze Corporate Partnership award by Justin Blades, IChemE’s deputy chief executive. The award was accepted on behalf of OSL Consulting by principal director, Alastair Robertson.

Justin Blades said: “OSL provide consultancy services to one of the UK’s most important and demanding industries – oil and gas. They need high quality people, with skills to match, and they are achieving outstanding results with programmes including mentoring schemes and accredited training to rigorous standards.

“OSL are also proving to be role models for other organisations. They are proof that small and medium size businesses can attract, train and retain high calibre chemical engineering talent."

OSL ConsultingBlades continued: “And their contribution is not just in-house. They support the wider chemical engineering community by opening their own doors to host events and help build a thriving and growing chemical engineering professional community in locations such as Hull and the Humber region.

“OSL’s business motto is ‘clever thinking’. But when it comes to professional development, it’s not just clever, it’s outstanding, and IChemE is pleased to welcome them to our exclusive group of global Corporate Partners”.

Alastair Robertson said: "We're delighted to become a Bronze Corporate Partner. OSL is dedicated to designing solutions that are safe, effective and sustainable, so an even closer relationship with IChemE further establishes our status as a consultancy that works to the highest standards.

“We pride ourselves on providing an excellent and attractive working environment for our team, and our philosophy is to ensure that every member has the opportunity to continually develop their skills. A major part of our commitment to develop our engineers is the company’s graduate development program, which is IChemE accredited.”

The other organisations awarded corporate partnership include BP, Bechtel, Qatargas, Morgan Sindall, Atkins, ADMA, AstraZeneca, Sellafield Ltd, KBR, Larsen and Toubro, Ingen, Costain, and United Utilities.
