Industry has given their major backing to the IChemE Awards 2016, which celebrate excellence and achievement in the chemical, biochemical and process industries.

Sixteen sponsors and supporters are already supporting the Awards, which attracted over 500 entries worldwide in 2015.

This year’s sponsors include ABB, AstraZeneca, BCECA, Bouygues Energies and Services, Costain, ExxonMobil, GSK, Jacobs, NES Global Talent, Otto Simon, PM Group, Reliance Industries, Rolls-Royce, Shell, Shell Eastern Petroleum, and Simon Carves Engineering.

Over thirty1 IChemE Awards will be presented at three events to be held in Singapore (21 October 2016), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (24 October 2016) and Manchester, UK, which will host the IChemE Global Awards on 3 November 2016.

Two new global categories are being introduced for 2016, including the Team of the Year Award and Biotechnology Award.

Last year’s winners included Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Lehigh Technologies, University of Liverpool, Sellafield Ltd, Ohio State University, Costain, Pfizer, Cork Institute of Technology, Johnson Matthey, Cardiff University, Senscient Ltd, GexCon, Suncor Energy, Laurentian University, Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations, Novvi, Petronas, National University of Singapore and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.

Matt Stalker, IChemE's head of training and events, said: "With an impressive 500 entries from 40 different countries and nearly 800 guests attending our three ceremonies in 2015, the IChemE Awards are one of the best ways to showcase and receive recognition for the industry’s achievements.

“We are pleased that industry is once again giving their backing to the Awards, which provide opportunities for professionals and organisations in academia, private and public sectors to show that chemical engineering matters.”
