Within this technical presentation we will be covering the following:
- floating facilities overview and applications to exploitation of hydrocarbon reserves
- historical trends regarding enabling technologies, increasing size and complexity of FPSOs
- critical interactions between the process discipline and other disciplines involved in the design
- some new applications including molten sulphur, in-hull desalting, Brazil pre-salt FPSOs
- trends and applications of floating LPG and LNG.
Presenter
James MacGregor, Floating Systems Advisor for Schlumberger
James has worked with floating production systems since the late 1980's, integrating the functional requirements of the process with those of the supporting platform. He has worked for several oil companies and floating production contractors including, Amerada Hess and SBM Offshore, which were involved in the early development and application of this technology.
