Overview

You are invited to attend the Chester and North Wales Member Group annual meeting. We encourage all members of the group to attend, particularly those who wish to support our activities or have questions that you would like to put directly to the committee.

After the meeting there will be a guest talk about how Innovate UK EDGE offers advice and training aimed at fast-growing, innovative businesses that ultimately want to scale. Securing funding and finance ranks alongside entering new markets and managing innovation as a key priority for such businesses.

The talk will outline how Innovate UK Edge supports clients, specifically with information about common sources of funding and finance, but stetting this in the wider context. Hopefully, assisting you to identify regional and national connections to help you realise your ambitions.

Committee vacancies

Nominations are now open for the roles of Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and Committee Member. We request that all those submitting nominations attend the annual meeting.

Please note that all committee members must be a current member of IChemE, and for the positions of Chair and Treasurer must also be a current Chartered Chemical Engineer at Member or Fellow grade, or in rare cases actively working towards Chartered Membership.

Speaker

Jamie Sheridan, Senior Innovation and Growth Specialist, Innovate UK EDGE

Jamie has a whole range of business experiences behind him, having built a healthcare business into scale up, running a hotel business on Anglesey as a lifestyle choice break and then becoming a Commercial and Non Exec Director with companies in Healthcare & Longevity, Software Development, Renewable Energy and Innovation Consultancy. Jamie is still involved in the support eco-system in North Wales and is the Chair of the North Wales Exporters Club.

The best part of his Innovation role is meeting the interesting people with great ideas and a passion for moving their business forward, where he can support directly or introduce into support networks. Funding and finance is important, but the Innovate UK EDGE service is about much more than grants.
