Overview

A webinar following the progression of chemical engineers from student life into industry and the experience of diversity throughout this journey.

This webinar will be of particular interest to university students and people early in their career.

Speakers

Michelle Watiki, Engineer, AFBE / Rolls Royce

Michelle is a graduate engineer at Rolls-Royce and specialises in Nuclear for defence. She graduated with an MSc in Advanced Chemical Engineering from Cranfield University in addition to an BEng Chemical Engineering from Aston University.

She is a qualified STEM ambassador, trustee board member at the Engineering Development Trust and executive board member at The Association for Black & Minority Ethnic Engineers. Her interests lie in promoting STEM to minority groups and she is passionately committed to helping inspire the next generation of engineers.

Macsene Isles-Ahite, Process Engineering Consultant

Macsene Isles-Ahite graduated from South Bank University in 2001 with a BEng (Hons) in Chemical Engineering and has spent the majority of my career working in the Energy sector for various Engineering Contractors - She now work as a self-employed Process Engineering Consultant helping to design "green" energy solutions.

She also spend some of her time volunteering for the IChemE, as one of twelve Trustees, and within her residential community, as one of twelve Parish Councillors.

Tegan Norster, Process Engineer, Hope Cement Works

Tegan Norster is a Process Engineer at Hope Cement Works, Breedon. Tegan graduated in 2021 from the University of Sheffield with a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering with Energy with Year In Industry where she was awarded the Moorside Energy prize. She is involved with the monitoring and optimisation of the process in terms of maximising production, optimising energy usage, improving process safety and environmental sustainability. Tegan is also a panellist for the upcoming IChemE100 Materials event.
