Azzam is a Chartered Chemical Engineer. On graduation he joined the BG Group Engineering and R&D Department. Azzam has 30 years’ experience of working in the process industries, mainly in oil and gas.

Azzam is a principal consultant; he has specific interests in process safety and in the safe and reliable operation of offshore and onshore plants. Azzam is currently working with oil and gas industry clients to address issues associated with process safety, decommissioning and sharing HAZOP and HAZID studies.

Azzam is a Fellow of IChemE and a Professional Process Safety Engineer. He has provided a range of services to clients including safety audit, process safety and occupational safety.

Azzam is currently the Vice Chair and a former Chair of the Aberdeen Members Group of the IChemE, and helps organise technical seminars and technical visits.

Azzam is an accredited HAZOP chairman. IChemE trained and BP, BG (Shell), CNR, ConocoPhillips (Chrysaor), Chevron (Ithaca), ABB and Total approved.

Volunteer lecturer at Aberdeen University for the MSc in chemical engineering regarding membrane, desalination, and process safety.
