Kerry O'Neill

Kerry O'Neill

  • Position Chair and Annual Dinner Coordinator

Kerry's most recent experience has been in leadership roles on a major Greenfield Gulf of Mexico Deepwater project in the US; as a European team lead and, more recently, as UK quality engineering manager and local discipline head for process engineering in an international exploration and production company.

Throughout Kerry's career, she has been very active in supporting her local IChemE committees, serving as:

  • Chair of the Teesside Young Members Group
  • Secretary of the Teesside Members Group
  • Schools liaison officer of the Aberdeen Members Group prior to her US assignment
  • Vice Chair of the Aberdeen Members Group and Annual Dinner organiser since her return from the States

In addition, to volunteering in the IChemE, Kerry has served on the SPE ‘Another Perspective’ committee; focusing on supporting women’s career development, as well as promoting careers in the energy industry at schools and universities. She has supported company initiatives to increase diversity in our business, such as ‘bring your daughter/son to work day’, girls in energy, experienced hire network and being a cultural identity ambassador.

These positions all support her passion for creating an inclusive culture, developing others and promoting engineering. If elected, Kerry would like to continue to build on the momentum of our technical talks this year to create more opportunities for our members to learn from each other. She would also like to increase the participation of our members in activities to promote our profession and highlight where we add value to the community as well as our role in the energy transition.
