Carvetii Coffee Talk & Tour
  • Date From 3rd May 2018
  • Date To 3rd May 2018

Carvetii coffee are speciality coffee roasters based in Threlkeld, Cumbria committed to supplying high quality coffee to Cumbria and beyond. Their mission is to improve the coffee drinking experience across Cumbria. The business also includes the supply, maintenance and repair of espresso machines and associated equipment as well as providing a range of training courses to both wholesale and home customers.

Join us at their facilities as we take a look at the science behind coffee brewing; how Carvetii roast their coffee to allow users to easily achieve a particular extraction in the cup, how Carvetii use refractometers to measure the strength of coffee, and how they use that data in the field to supply excellent coffee to their customers.

Carvetii shall also be discussing how they measure and adapt the local water to be more suitable to coffee brewing, and why it is important for a coffee roaster to undertake this work.

A coffee tasting will accompany the session.

Gareth Kemble and Angharad MacDonald, founders and owners of Carvetii Coffee

Gareth Kemble and Angharad MacDonald are the founders and owners of Carvetii Coffee. They are both passionate about the production of their ‘speciality’ coffee and the knowledge associated with it. The difference with a speciality blend is both the quality of the bean and the whole process of harvesting.
