Simon has over 20 years chemical engineering experience, after graduating from Teesside University with a Bachelors in Engineering, followed by a PhD from Loughborough.  In that time, he’s worked mainly in upstream oil and gas and nuclear decommissioning, with a bit of mining and minerals and some wastewater treatment on the side. He is now working as a process technology manager for BPL in Hertfordshire, where he is currently tasked with improving yields and corralling production data for statistical process control.

Simon has volunteered for the IChemE over the last ten or so years, as a professional reviewer for Chartered Engineer applications and more recently serving as a committee member for the Milton Keynes members’ group.
